Explore our Collections
Southland’s Rural Heritage Centre spans several buildings, each housing local and regional farming collections and displays for visitors to explore.
Each building is named to honour a significant club member.
Les Brown Shed
The Les Brown Shed showcases a large Classic Tractors Gallery. Tractor enthusiasts will delight in the many makes and models on display. Also featured here is Thornbury’s first fire engine.
The Les Brown Shed is also the main precinct building, housing the History of Southland Farming exhibition, the entrance foyer and toilet facilities. When visiting, this is where you will be greeted by Club volunteers and begin to explore the precinct.
